David Floyd Houston to conduct new stock trading class

The Chicago office of renowned stock trader David Floyd Houston of Louisville, Kentucky announced July 1, 2011 that applications are being accepted for a new class of students seeking to learn how to trade their way off the stock markets to financial independence.  A total of 25 applicants will be accepted for this free training course, personally taught by David Floyd Houston each year for several years now.  Applications must be received by no later than August 1, 2011 and the new 2011 class will start on October 3, 2011.

It is unclear at this point whether this newest 2011 class will be taught in Chicago, Illinois or Louisville, Kentucky or somewhere else.  The 2010 class was taught in Louisville, Kentucky, so many are assuming the 2011 class will be taught in Chicago, Illinois.  Mr. Houston has offices in both cities, but the location for the 2011 class has not yet been announced.  Applications are being processed at both offices according to Tom Clark, an official spokesperson for Mr. Houston. "I just want to remind all who consider applying that, in order to qualify for this free stock trading class taught by Mr. Houston and his staff, you have to be a single parent 18 years of age or over and have custody of and be raising your own children.  We also require that all applicants have at least a High School Diploma or GED.  You must meet these minimum requirements to qualify for consideration and will not be allowed to participate in the class if you do not.  Also, no pre-existing knowledge of the stock markets is required, although some knowledge of the NASDAQ could be helpful even though it is not required" said Mr. Clark.

Applications must be received by no later than August 1, 2011 and should be mailed to: David Floyd Houston, 2011 Stock Trading Class, PO Box 548, Louisville, KY 40201-0548.  No phone calls are to be accepted.  Also, due to past traffic and parking problems, no applications will be accepted at either of Mr. Houston's offices.  Applications must be mailed.  Application forms are available for download as PDF files from David Floyd Houston's main website at http://www.davidfloydhouston.com/ until July 30, 2011.  According to Mr. Clark however, no special or specific form of application is required:  "Letters and resumes are okay as well, so long as single parents explain why they want to learn swing trading and their dreams or ultimate goals in life.  Applicants should also make sure to include their contact information, even if it is just an email address."

The David Floyd Houston stock trading classes are taught once each year free of charge to 25 carefully selected students, always single parents raising their own children while receiving public financial assistance due to poverty.  The goal of the classes is to teach these parents how to make a living, become financially independent and provide a better life for their children by trading stocks for profits off the markets.  The classes last two weeks.  Mr. Houston provides the course materials at his own expense.

"Mr. Houston got the idea for holding these classes several decades ago from legendary Chicago swing and trend trader Richard Dennis, famous for the 'turtle trader experiment' conducted by Dennis and his partner Bill Eckhardt back in the early 1980's" according to Mr. Clark.  Many people believe Mr. Dennis in turn got the idea for his original turtle experiment from watching the movie Trading Places, starring Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd.  The theory behind the movie was that anybody can be taught how to become a multimillionaire, regardless of their background.  Mr. Houston also loved that movie and is a big fan of Eddie Murphy.  And although Mr. Dennis and Mr. Houston have both denied the movie Trading Places was the motive for their subsequent classes, both admit to having seen the movie and many people still believe otherwise.  Those wishing to learn more about the famous "turtle trading experiment" should follow the link at the end of this article.

"We should make clear that although Mr. Houston has used the turtle trading rules himself as well as several other types of trading systems over the years, he does not teach the turtle trading system to his single parent classes.  Mr. Houston has his own systems and those are what he teaches his students" according to Clark.  "Mr. Houston's systems are based on price volatility, price direction, price momentum, volume and whether a stock is in a trading range or trending."

"One other warning I should issue is that we do investigate the truthfulness of each applicant's claimed qualifications to participate in the program.  I mention the point because we sometimes have people lie about their status in an effort to get into these classes.  For example, we had an applicant for the 2007 class that was not a parent at all, but pretended to be a parent by borrowing a friend's children to get into the class.  You must be a single parent raising your own children to qualify for this free training class" said Mr. Clark.

Mr. Clark reports that the reason David Floyd Houston continues these free stock trading classes each year is that they have been very successful at helping single parents achieve financial independence and escape poverty with their children.  "Not a single graduate before 2007 is making less than $100,000 a year today.  A few have become millionaires, while others have been able to buy their own homes and send their children to college.  Mr. Houston has always said that there are 3 major roads to wealth in America, with trading or investing in the markets being one of those roads.  Graduates of his free stock trading classes over the years have proven that to be true."
